Will plaiting my hair cause hair loss?!?

i have naturally dead straight hair but i love volume so i have started to plait my hair when it is slightly damp before i go to bed. i usually do about 12 plaits. however, i was wondering, will this cause tension at the roots which will lead to hair loss? i try not to pull too much at the root. has anyone had experience of this? many thanks.Will plaiting my hair cause hair loss?!?
As long as you don't plait too tightly then you'll be fine. I used to do this every night for a year to create waves.
