I understand your dilemma, sometimes it is hard finding the right drug for depression! My daughter keeps having hers changed or the dosage altered because of side effects. If you really dont want to change drugs then go back and see the Doctor.

The hair loss could make you more depressed if it is severe so if I were you I'd try the other drug first!

Good luck! Can taking Venlafaxine (anti depressant)cause hair loss?
You could try selenium, zinc and and biotin to address medication induced hair loss

Venlafaxine has been known to cause hairloss, but it is a rare side effect. http://www.smart-drugs.com/Inserts/inser/a>

According to some reports, virtually all the new generation of antidepressants may on rare occasions lead to alopecia. http://www.springerlink.com/content/j315/a>

If you read the patient information leaflet for Mirtazapine, hair loss is not noted as a side effect. http://emc.medicines.org.uk/emc/assets/c/a>

It is your choice as to wether to change medication or not, and if you are worried, you can always go back and dicsuss it with your doctor again.
