I’m not sure why you would be so concerned about hair loss if it is not from your scalp, but that is up to you. It seems to me, if this treatment “it is complete remdy for alopecia” you wouldn’t be needing another injection. It isn’t that hard to locate a doctor just check on his medical license and you will be given an address. Even if this doctor fell off the face of the earth your medical records would still be at the office you went to. I know a lot of doctors and those who have hair loss problems use Rogaine. If there was a magic injection believe me they would be the first to use it.Inform me injection use into body not for scalp hair loss treatment ?
It might be

Intralesional glucocorticoid injection or

Cortisone or

Corticosteroids or

Intradermal injection of triamcinolone acetonide

This is the second time you have asked this same question.

Is your alopecia related to cancer? If not you are in the wrong forum.

Any good dermatologist should be able to treat your problem.

How do i solve the problem of oily scalp/hair loss?!?

i have an extremely oily scalp and have recently begun to notice that my hair is shedding a lot. i'm now undergoing a treatment for oily scalp but am a bit afraid that it might be a little too strong for my hair to bear. (not even sure if such treatments are effective). not very sure if the shampoo recommended may be too strong as well... because i've recently noticed split ends.

will the treatment be effective? seems like it might not solve the root of my problem.

should i switch shampoo and how should i wash my hair? (like, should i rub my scalp or what)

are there any other recommended solutions to my problem?

i'm only 20 and am a female, so i dont want to go bald. =(How do i solve the problem of oily scalp/hair loss?!?
    take vitamin E or biotin

you may be lacking in some nutrients that may be causing the hair loss

Wat is the solution for oily scalp? & hair loss?

I have the same problem. This is due to excessive sebum secretion. You can use shampoo Nizoral or Select plus(Which is a Ketoconazol preparation) for oily scalp twice in a week but for hair loss consult a dermatologist he will find out the cause and will treat accordingly.Wat is the solution for oily scalp? %26amp; hair loss?
the solution for oily scalp is to keep ur scalp clean and wash ur hair frequently and also henna would help both hair loss and oily scalp

Hair problems such as greasy scalp, hair loss..etc.?

My mom has been going through this wierd thing but were trying to figure out what. My mom says her hair smells a lot, For example: She takes a shower, and her hair smells. She says she scrubs her scalp hard, but not so hard that it hurts her head. She also now has extremely greasy hair, and she hasn't had greasy hair before. To go along with that, she has greasy skin. Oh, and she also says she's been experiencing hair loss; like 100 or more hair strands per day! Compared to me...i lose like 30-45 per day. My mom has went to a doctor recently to ask what was going on and they asked her questions, and took some blood tests. We have yet to get the results of the blood tests. The doctors say it may be Thyroid. Please send us links to remedies or anything that would help. Thank a bunch guys.Hair problems such as greasy scalp, hair loss..etc.?
It could be from a high diet of fatty foods, especially meats and fish. If that's not the case it could also be from stress and scratching or rubbing the scalp too often. When washing hair, it should be done gently. Massaging the scalp frequently can stimulate the hair follicles to secrete natural oils. It could also just be a matter of changing shampoos.Hair problems such as greasy scalp, hair loss..etc.?
Overusing hair products can cause a greasy scalp. The more moisture you forcibly strip from your scalp, your body works twice as hard to produce oil for it. The problem is, ';greasy scalp'; and ';hair loss'; don't go well with each other. Greasy scalp requires a shampoo with seaweed, which is excellent at removing oil, whereas hair loss requires a moisturizing, oil-filled shampoo for less breakage.

I have itchy dry flaky scalp, hair loss from roots, and hair texture change. Allergy to dustmites?

Ok, so I have had hair fall and diffuse thinning (female in 30s) for 4 years now. Plus my head itches and scalp is dry and flaky no matter what I use. It's coming out by roots and I've tried everything out there. Anyway, allergy doctor said I'm allergic to all nuts, most grasses and trees, flowers, animal dander, etc. AND, he said the main one I'm allergic to is dust mites and told me to get protective cover for pillow and mattress. Could dust mites be the cause of my hair loss and itchy dry scalp too?? If so, what's a good shampoo??I have itchy dry flaky scalp, hair loss from roots, and hair texture change. Allergy to dustmites?
anyway as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago I suffered from hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also I used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.info/why.php

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

    good luck!

If you are suffering from allergies even when it's not allergy season, then it might be a sign that you have dust mites at your home.

Dust mites feces and their remains could be a leading cause of allergic reactions at most of American house. Some people can experience asthma attacks. It is not possible to get fid of dust mites completely, but you should be able to reduce the number of dust mites in your home. Below you can find some good tips on how to get rid of as many dust mites as possible.
scalp allergies, irritations, etc can trigger hair loss. when i moved to north america, i found myself allergic to most drug-store shampoos, etc. try a good dandruff shampoo, or nioxin (its marketed mainly for men, but its really a good dandruff shampoo). you can couple it with a different conditoner.

consider what might be triggering the allergic sensitivity. could it be pollution, something you're eating, ect, ect. do some research. see a dermatologist.
    head n shoulder
You can try hair loss product which have

    Vitamin B6

B6 is one of the B-complex water-soluble vitamins. It鈥檚 important for supporting many normal healthy body functions, including normal hair growth.

    Biotin

It鈥檚 also a B vitamin. Biotin is involved with the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates. It plays an important role in supporting healthy skin, hair and nails.

    Magnesium

Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body and is essential to good health. Magnesium works with calcium to promote healthy hair growth. Food sources include green vegetables, wheat germ, whole grains, nuts, soybeans, chickpeas and fish.

    Horsetail Silica

Horsetail is a descendent of huge, tree-like plants that thrived 400 million years ago during the Paleozoic era. The fresh or dried leaves and stems are used. It鈥檚 best collected in the spring when the emerging plants are still shorter than seven inches. It has been used in traditionally since the time of the ancient Romans and Greeks.

    Para-Amino Benzoic Acid

There is one natural product in the market that have all of this ingredient plus Minoxidil, the only FDA approved ingredient for hair re-growth. The product is Provillus and you can follow the link in the source box for further information.

    Dry scalp... hair loss?

i've had extremely healthy hair for all my life and have never had trouble with it as some people do after dying it often..

i've dyed my hair like twice every year for the past five years...

but i've just recently like in the last few months discovered hair loss and extremely dry scalp...

my hair dresser says that the coloring shouldn't be at fault for hair loss...

what could be the cause of this?Dry scalp... hair loss?
Do a web search ';dying hair causes hair loss and dry scalp?'; See what the experts say. This NATURAL, safe, low cost treatment gives remarkable results - it stops the loss and ends the dryness almost straight away. Massage scalp thoroughly with natural oils -olive oil is excellent, and then brush vigorously (best with a stiff bristled brush) so that you feel it stimulating scalp (45 /55 strokes or even more each day.) Brushing before you apply oil is equally as good. A little shedding and some breakage occurs but only to begin with - quickly stops as hair gets anchored and stronger. Hair will grow faster, become thicker and It will also force new growth overtime (expect to see in about 2 months) My hair has completely regrown where I had loss. Initially the hairs are sparse and weak looking then overtime become denser and stronger. Do at night and sleep with it that way and wash off in the morning (because of treatment - washing daily will not be detrimental). Keep up treatment and DON麓T BE AFRAID OF LOSING NEW GROWING HAIRS - THEY WILL RE-APPEAR EVEN STRONGER. Using this treatment you have to have patience and persevere day in, day out to force new growth. But it truly works. I have more hair and healthy looking hair than I did 15 years ago.

One of principal causes of loss and dry scalp are shampoos and other products containing harsh harmful ingredients and medicated shampoos which contain even more chemicals They also cause premature graying, inhibited growth and many more problems. Washing hair too frequently removes beneficial natural oils and harms scalp and also is a cause of loss and other problems..

Do a web search ';Shampoos harmful?'; MANY contain sodium laurel sulphate, sodium laureth sulphate and propylene glycol, all of which are harmful. First two are dangerous and both damage hair follicles and cause hair loss. They also harm eyes.- the eye stinging you get is telling you that. Fetuses subjected to these substances do not develop functioning eyes, and both can cause cataracts in adults. Propylene glycol is a known skin irritant and it causes mouth ulcers. It also damages the kidneys and liver. Do web searches : ';Non harming shampoos'; ';Non harming hair products'; There are some which are beneficial - they are expensive but worth it. Try it you will be happy that you did!

Could be a number of things, I would have a word with your doctor if it is not the colourant.
You can try this treatment for dry hair. Beat an egg in a cup of milk. When it foams, rub it into the scalp.Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water.Carry out this routine twice a week for excellent results for dry damaged hair. Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Any help for oily scalp? Hair loss? (Ex- cancer patient)?

My family doesn't have this problem, except me.

2 years back I was down with cancer and undergone chemo and I lost all my hair. Just recently, I got back my hair (recovered from my cancer) but I find that, is so much different from before. My hair become fine and I have oily scalp, just take for instance if one day I do not wash my hair I could feel that my hair is rather sticky and ';shiny'; . And I start dropping hair too. What happen to me? Are there any pills or shampoo to recommend? I am a Singaporean.Any help for oily scalp? Hair loss? (Ex- cancer patient)?
I am too a cancer survivor, congratulations to you in your ability and fortitude to overcome such a horrendous experience. I also lost all my hair, brows, body and facial hair and it took probably more than three years to be able to feel real strong again. there were so many issues to deal with emotionally and physically afterward that having a short and weak hair became a minor really minor issue for me!.

I recommend you eat highly nutritious meals and try to regain your emotional balance, the rest (such as hair, nails, acceptable appearance) will come back after you have reached harmony within yourself and acceptance in total health again.

Congratulations and be real happy. You won the battle. Forget the minor issues, remember you probably bought a nice wig......so go ahead keep using it!! or buy another one while you hair becomes nice again......

    God bless!!

Biotin pills plus massaging with sweet almond oil should help.
    Scalp

The scalp is the anatomical area bordered by the face anteriorly and the neck to the sides and posteriorly. It is usually described as having five layers.

S: The skin on the head from which head hair grows. It is richly supplied with blood vessels and can be subject to such conditions as dandruff and cutis verticis gyrata.

C: Connective tissue. a thin layer of fat and fibrous tissue lies beneath the skin

A: The aponeurosis (or galea aponeurotica) is the next layer. It is a tough layer of dense fibrous tissue which runs from the frontalis muscle anteriorly to the occipitalis posteriorly

L: The loose areolar connective tissue layer provides an easy plane of separation between the upper three layers and the pericranium. In the barbaric practice of scalping the scalp is torn off through this layer. It also provides a plane of access in craniofacial surgery and neurosurgery. This layer is sometimes referred to as the ';Danger Zone'; because of the ease by which infectious agents can spread through it to emissary veins which then drain into the cranium. The loose areolar tissue in this layer is made up of random collage I bundles, collagen III and is highly vascular and cellular. It will also be rich in glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and will be constituted of more matrix than fibers.

P: The pericranium is the periosteum of the skull bones and provides nutrition to the bone and the capacity for repair. It may be lifted from the bone to allow removal of bone windows (craniotomy).

The blood supply of the scalp is via four pairs of arteries, two from the external carotid and two from the internal carotid:

the supratrochlea artery to the midline forehead

the supraorbital artery to the lateral forehead and scalp as far up as the vertex

the superficial temporal artery which gives frontal and parietal branches to supply much of the scalp

the occipital artery which runs from posteriorly to supply much of the back of the scalp.

The scalp is innervated by the:

Supratrochlea nerve and the supraorbital nerve from the ophthalmic division of the trigeminal nerve

Greater occipital nerve (C2) posteriorly up to the vertex

Lesser occipital nerve (C3) behind the ear.

The scalp plays an important role in the aesthetics of the face. Androgenic alopecia, or male pattern hair loss, is a common cause of concern to men. It may be treated by medication (eg finasteride) or hair transplantation with variable success. If the scalp is heavy and loose, a common change with aging, the forehead may be low, heave and deeply lined. The brow lift procedure aims to address these concerns.

The scalp is a common site for the development of tumours including:

    epidermoid cyst

    pilar cyst

actinic keratosis and squamous cell carcinoma

    basal cell carcinoma

    merkel cell tumours
There are products on the market claiming to regrow hair, but you have to keep using their product, or the hair will out again. The price is pretty high for this stuff, which may, or may not have a lasting effect.
    go seek a professional.
thyroid conditions, nervous conditions/stress, vitamin deficiency, washing the hair too frequently, and wearing a hat all the time can cause abnormal hair loss or contribute to further regular hair thinning. Hair loss patterns are also genetic meaning the age it starts, and where the thinning occurs as displayed by blood relatives in common. If it is not typical to be losing hair in your family so early or at all because some fams have full head of locks into old age then you might want to look into what I mentioned above for the reasoning behind untypical hair loss.

You should stop picking immediately as badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo. Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.Picking scalp/ hair loss?
Stop picking at your scalp for one. Also, Fish oil has been known to promote hair growth. A healthy diet in general will probably not hurt.

  • Sunburn on scalp, hair loss?

I was at an outdoors concert this month and noticed the next day that I had a sunburn on my scalp, can this cause my hair to fall out? If so, will it grow back?Sunburn on scalp, hair loss?
A number of things can cause excessive hair loss (H.L). For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This H.L is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary.

Hormonal problems may cause Hair to loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or under active, your hair may fall out. This loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. This loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your loss.

There are lots of shampoos out there without it – try some

.2. Herbal Ingredients: The most notable herb with some success in hair loss difficulty is Saw Palmetto. Shampoos with this ingredient are certainly worth a try. Saw Palmetto seems to inhibit the production of DHT in men, for example, and DHT causes hair follicles to shrink and close up.

    3. Nettle and bay have also been helpful to some people. Shampoos which include these might help you too.

    4. Essential Oils: These oils are concentrated ones which come from plants such as lavender. From ancient times, these have been used to stimulate healthy hair and to decrease the rate of hair loss. We know that we have much to learn from early medicine men and healers. Perhaps this is another example.

    5. Tea Tree Oil: Many swear by this ingredient, and there are several brands of this on the market. So popular are these shampoos, you can find them at most any drug store as well as health product retailers. As an aside, tea tree oil has also been found to be effective in the prevention of head lice infestations. There are no definitive studies to show that shampoos can actually result in re growth of hair that is caused by what we all “permanent” conditions, largely the result of heredity and hormones. However, early prevention is important, and experimenting with shampoos during these early stages may provide invaluable help in reducing the rate of loss

I am an 18 y/o male. I was born in the us, Parents come from Pakistan. I have suddenly lost a tremendous ammount of right above my forehead. I can see my scalp a bit due to hair loss and it is extremely DRY.. I use head and shoulders extensive solutions but no affect.

The type of hairloss is not broken hair but it jumps out from the roots. I can see the bud at the end.

I am affraid of even running a hand through my hair because it accompanies hairs.

I know loss of 20-40 hairs per day is normal but i am waayy beyond that.

I just lightly tugged my hair 2 seconds ago and even the hair on the back of the had came out from the roots. The pressure I used is less than i need to open a 20 oz coke bottle or even a can.

Im sorry to say, but this is like a sign of cancer.

I advice you to see a doctor immediately.18 y/o Male. Extremely Dry scalp + hair loss. Why?
    Talk to a doctor
Add Sesame seeds, pumpkin, sunflower seeds, almonds, and brewers yeast, but DO NOT go overboard.

Take Flaxseed Oil 2 Tablespoons Daily.
It has something to do with the weather. If the weather is too cold, the tendency is the skin becomes dry and needs to be moisturized. Same with the scalp, you've got to use a little conditioner on it to keep the moisture. i know how your feel coz I've also encountered that problem before. Proper diet, enough time of sleep and not worrying too much can prevent this problem. For more tips, visit http://www.profinastpills.com
you should go see a doc about it it could be a sign of cansor
check your diet. Maybe too much junk food or too much chemicals/additives in your food is causing it. Soda pop is also junk food. Try going on a vegetarian diet and see if that helps.
it's the gene stupid. can't really do anything about it.. sorry but true

    Underlying disease

    source:

http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen//a>What are the causes of Hair loss?
I agree with taking her to doctor but these might be some reasons why she is losing hair :

1: lots of stress , causes hairloss , make sure she is not stressed .

2: bad hair care , does she use hair ions e.g hair straightners ? does she use hair drier most the time to style her hair ? these are very bad for the health of hair and should be avoided for daily use ! ( make sure she doesnt highlight her hair too often )

3: bad shampoo , she should try different shampoos and see which one is the best .

4: Does she take shower everyday ? , everyday shower is bad for hair , if this is her routine and she likes it tell her not to use shampoos every day , she may wash her body but washing her hair with shampoo daily is bad for her hair .

very important to pay attention to her diet , bad diet causes hair loss. her diet should contain protein.

    ';The hair is comprised mostly of protein. To encourage hair growth, adhere to a diet rich in protein. A recommended diet for this purpose includes calves liver, brewer's yeast, wheat germ, and two tablespoons of granulated lecithin. Along with protein, these foods are also high in B vitamins, an important nutrient for hair.( http://holisticonline.com/Remedies/Hair//a> )';

How about some hair care products ? I used to suffer from hair loss when i was her age but i started using hair care Oils ( snake oil , local product ) , Im sure there are good hair care products around , they might smell and look scary but they are very good for the hair !

Is DHT (dihydrotestosterone) , the actual cause of hair loss in both male and females?

I'm confused. On the internet, whilst doing some research i read that DHT also occurs in women. I thought only men experienced this. Is this the root of what causes hair loss ? is DHT always present and always the reason why someone will lose their hair?

this is an article i found

    ';DHT develops when testosterone is combined with ';5-alpha reductase';, an enzyme that is produced by the hair follicles. The mixture of the already-present testosterone and the new enzyme cause the hair follicles to begin shrinking. The Di-hydrostestosterone, or DHT, remains present on the scalp, causing the hair follicles to shrink more and more. Eventually, the follicles are unable to continue producing hair';

If this is the case then is a dht blocker able to prevent hair loss for life if used continuously? I'm a 22 year old female experiencing hair loss which has not resolved itself after the delivery of my son 2 years ago. Can i get a recommendation of a Natural and fairly cheap DHT blocker i can use to grow my hair and prevent future hair loss?Is DHT (dihydrotestosterone) , the actual cause of hair loss in both male and females?
The paragraph you quoted primarily refers to men. It also applies to women approaching their menopause.

women are more likely to suffer from thyroid problems, hair loss caused by birth control pills and stress induced hair loss.Especially if they are as young as you. these may ultimately lead to increased DHT but that does not mean DHT itself is the cause of your hair loss.

That article you linked to is misleading and playing with words. women do not lose hair in the same way as men and are more than likely to suffer from diffused hair loss, that is thinning all over the head. DHT is Not the main cause of hair loss in women. But that article says the main cause of baldness in women. How many women go bald? Anyway that whole article is a sales pitch aimed at a product so I would not pay too much attention to it..

I would work on finding the root cause of your hair loss.It could be a number of things.sometimes you can be under lots of stress without even knowing it.

you may be suffering from Telogen Effluvium which can be triggered by childbirth and can take long a time to clear up. Sometimes years.

Most hair loss supplements with DHT blockers are only for men.The only one that I know of that is for women and does actually work is provillus.

P.S DHT tests in women are inconclusive and not very reliable. The reason is because of the very low levels of DHT compared to men. Tests carried out on women can and do report DHT as being normal even though it is causing hair loss.Is DHT (dihydrotestosterone) , the actual cause of hair loss in both male and females?
There are many reasons for hair loss including hormone imbalance, stress etc....

it would probably be better to go to the doctor so they can determine the cause.I think they can do test whether DHT is the cause nowadays?

  • Could it be that stress is the cause of hair loss/falling hair?

Yes indeed! Have had that happening to me. I cut my hair, which was past my butt, because it was falling out so much and wanted the length to be shorter since it was. It's still falling out, but not as badly. I'm sure it'll even out eventually, not bald yet!Could it be that stress is the cause of hair loss/falling hair?

    MECHANICAL DAMAGE

Damage to the hair can be self inflicted either by intentional or unintentional means. Some people going through stress continuously pull at their hair until it comes out. Styling hair by bleaching, braiding and straightening can also cause damage and results in hair being lost.
yes it could. also if you have a problem with your teeth. or you need vitamins. my little sister's hair falls off when she is stressed and/or have a problem with her teeth, so that could be it. better check with a doctor though, could be something more serious
Yes. I have a friend whos hair fell out in patches when he was going through a divorce. About a year later, it all grew back.
it's also called living. hair grows to it's terminal lenth, falls out
    Yes*

Unintentional cause of hair loss on thigh area?

Ok, so this might sound just a little bit comical but true story none the less.

So , I pretty much ran out of roomy boxers a while ago and I had to wear some kind of underwear right?

So, I wore my older, much less spacey boxers for about two weeks until I bought new ones.

They constricted my thigh but not my hamstring area.

Sometime later (.I'm not one to endure discomfort for long)

I noticed that the hairs on my thigh were not as thick and long.

The hair growth recedes right from the point where my boxers would fit..

What exactly happened or is my imagination rampant?Unintentional cause of hair loss on thigh area?
If you go to the tool section in Home Depot you'll find buffing discs made of cotton and other seemingly harmless fibers.

But they polish off a lot.

I took a lipadary class and the buffing discs--even for semi-precious stones--were soft cotton, some of them! They weren't just to clean them up again--they actually

put the final polish on dull, mat stones.

So don't underestimate little things--there are no little things.

Your boxers may have even had some polyester content, making them even more abrasive.

When a fabric is woven (non-stretchy) instead of knitted (stretchy),

it will create more abrasion upon friction and movement.

My husband has little hair where his denims rub his knees (--it's funny, but I can't bring myself to put him in a dress).

It's a lesson and a half though, no? Little things add up!

Kindey problem, a cause of hair loss?

is it?Kindey problem, a cause of hair loss?
Your question is not at all clear so I have no idea what you really want to know but, yes, kidney disease can cause hair loss though it is not common. Usually, hair loss is not seen until the patient is in kidney failure.

What is the cause of hair loss?????

is it stress or the frequent change of shampoo brands? What is the cause of hair loss?????
According to an article I read the causes for hair loss are many and varied. Genetic 'Pattern Baldness' is the most common, but there are other very common causes such as Hormonal Imbalance, Illness, Poor Diet, Poor Hygiene, Drug Abuse and Stress. Read this article, http://myhairloss.googlepages.com/thecau/a>What is the cause of hair loss?????
I think by using conditioners, because long time ago I used conditioner and I had lose a lot of hair.
Strees is one of them. Heritage is another.
There are numerous reasons, here are just some:

Heredity, age, stress, pregnancy, eating disorders, malnutrition (specifically lack of folic acid in diet), wearing hats too often (clog the hair folicles with oil and such), colouring or other treatments of hair products too often.
one way is if u wear baseball caps all the time
its most likly stress, i don't think that shampoo brands will change ne thing about your hair.
    Genetic is 1 common way
    or just baldness
There are many reasons for hair loss. I am not sure why I have it, but I know what helped me. My doctor told me that women who took spirolactone had new hair growth. This a fluid tablet. He said this was one of the side effects. I was already taking a fluid tablet and he changed it to spirolactone. Within just a couple weeks, I could tell the difference. I now have much more hair, and it is one the top of my head, not one my face and chest as my daughter predicted. I do not know if this is helpful. Just like to pass on things that work.
Like firestarter said genetics and also enviornment and exposure to certain chemicals.
stress n wat u wash it with
Because your scalp stinks and the hair is jumping overboard.

What are the causes of hair loss?

i'm 24 and i'm already starting to noticebly loose hair ... what are some of the causes of hair loss ? anything I can do to slow it down ?What are the causes of hair loss?
Hair loss is caused by all kinds of things, but mostly it's a hereditary thing. If you want to see what you'll look like in about 20 years, check out your dad's and mom's hair. If your family history shows significant hair loss, there is still hope, but you need to act quickly.

There are all kinds of medical remedies available. If you're serious about remedying hair loss, see your doctor. You can also take steps to preserve the hair your have. One easy thing, only comb your hair from roots to ends. Anything else tangles and then pulls out hair in the detangling process. Follow this pattern also when you wash and condition your hair. Also, keep your hair cut short as weight will also increase fallout. Finally, Mane and Tail shampoo seem to help, and some judicious use of hair gel will make the hair you have seem thicker. Finally, don't sweat it. Many ladies find guys attractive with little or no hair. What are the causes of hair loss?
Hereditary, diet, injury, stress, thyroid, etc. Supposedly Grondin's Hair Salon has shampoo that helps. Check with your doctor to rule out medical problem, but if your dad has hair loss, you probably will too.
Unlike the last answer: Hair loss comes down the mother's line. Check your uncles on your mother's side to get an idea if your problem is genetic.
go to a doctor first to rule out any medical problems.

if you are losing more than 200 hairs a day,it is to worry about.

    diet,lack of vitamins,stress,medications,

    certain diseases(like thyroid).......etc

What are the cause of hair loss?

Some think it is hereditary, so it runs in families, also if there is a severe burn the hair will not grow back because the layer of skin in which hairs follicles grow will be destroyed as well from constant rubbing in one area can cause the hair to stop growing in certain spots has to do with proteins and stuff!!What are the cause of hair loss?
one is believed to be too much testorone. What are the cause of hair loss?
There can be many different reasons for hair loss but one of the biggest reasons is stress!
Genes is the big reason. if you have any one in your family who has hair loss most likely you will too. But one trick i know is to wash your hair with cold water to close the pores in your head that holds the hair, instead of using hot water because it will open the pores.
    stress and genetics (genes)

  • Is using a blowdryer a cause of hair loss.?

i wouldnt have thought so... hair loss is usually due to stress..

maybe your stressing yourself to get your hair right every day..

maybe you have other work related stresses

maybe its something that you wouldnt think of.. like, rushing around, money worried, friendship worries ect...

stress is a terrible thing and can cause all sorts of problemsIs using a blowdryer a cause of hair loss.?
I don't think it is, but the best advice that I can give you is to not put conditioner on your roots. Conditioner is made for the ends of your hair. My mother is a hairdresser and I told her about losing my hair. She told me to not use as much conditioner and to only keep it on my ends.....it's worked. I no longer lose as much hair.Is using a blowdryer a cause of hair loss.?
YES it does..... after taking a hot bath your skin expands as does your scalp... this makes roots sit loser then normal and when you blow dry it your literally ripping some of your hair out simply because your roots have been loosened by the heat... the same goes with cold water if you haven't noticed your skin contract making it feel tight..... heat does the opposite... so my advise to you is maby wash your hair with loop warm water or cold if your gana blow dry your hair
no, but if overused it can cause dry hair, that is brittle and will break off. this gives you horrible split ends. if your using a blow drier then leave a little conditioner or product in your hair to keep it conditioned.
No, but it can make it thinner. And it will damage your hair with frequent use. Treat your hair regularly with leave-in conditioner and vitamin shampoo, like Pantene or Garnier.
Actually, it does affect your brain as the hair dryer emits electro-magnetic waves that enter at least 2-inches deep in your brains. ask california Edison to send you a free brochure on electromagnetic waves and see the reality!!
It could be..it depends how often you use it.

Try to air dry your hair for a while...or set it in curlers and let dry.

Too much heat on hair will damage it.
absolutely not..but it does cause heat damage to your hair.. so i suggest that you use some kind of hair lotion our leave in conditioner after blow drying
the heat is the cause of the hair loss. it causes drying of the hair and scalp
no, there are tons of people who use them but still have a full head of hair
Not usually...some causes are alopecia, stress and ill health but not hairdrying.
no, not unless you set it in the scalp and it burns the hair off.
Nope, never heard of that one.
    nope.

but if you use it too much it can cause damage to your hair!
no, but it damages your hair alot if you do it frequently
nope, unless you use it so close to ur head it burns ur hair off.
    Hope not.
    Naw.
Not unless you are wearing a wig!
no but everyday you lose hair
wearing head gear is the cause,,
I haven't lost hair that way.
    maybe b/c of the heat.
if your hairs thin , then yes.
    no.
no as long as you dont do it to much
i sure hope not... everyday user lol

Is he true. please advise me. Is there any natural way to grow my hear faster then fast like any fruits tonic etc.

thanksMasterbating can be cause of hair loss?
No Masturbation is the least of your worries. Whoever told you that it was probably just wanted to have you over-react!

I'm going to explain to you the reason why people have hair loss, treatments, and things to ask your doctor!

Each hair grows in cycles鈥攊t grows, rests, and then falls out. Usually, this cycle repeats approximately yearly. At any time, about ninety percent of a person's scalp hair is growing, a phase that lasts between two and six years. Ten percent of the scalp hair is in a resting phase that lasts between two and three months. At the end of its resting stage, the hair goes through a shedding phase.

Causes and Risk Factors of Hair Loss

High fever, severe infection, major surgery, significant life stressor. From four weeks to three months after a person has a high fever, severe infection, major surgery, or significant life stressor such as death in the family, he or she may be shocked to see a lot of hair falling out. This condition usually corrects itself but may require treatment.

Thyroid disease Both an overactive and underactive thyroid can cause hair loss. The hair loss associated with thyroid disease can be reversed with proper treatment.

Inadequate protein in diet. Some vegetarians, people who go on crash diets that exclude protein, and those with severely abnormal eating habits, may develop protein malnutrition. When this happens, a person's body will help to save protein by shifting growing hairs into the resting phase. Massive hair shedding can occur two to three months later. Hair can then be pulled out by the roots. This condition can be reversed by eating the proper amount of protein.

Medications. Prescription drugs can cause temporary hair shedding in a small percentage of people. Examples of such drugs are blood thinners, some drugs used to treat gout and arthritis, acne, or psoriasis, and some medications for heart problems.

Low serum iron Iron deficiency sometimes produces hair loss. Low iron can be detected by laboratory tests and corrected with iron pills.

Alopecia areata. In this type of hair loss, hair usually falls out, resulting in totally smooth, round patches about the size of a coin or larger. This disease may affect children, women or men of any age.

Androgenic alopecia. This is the most common type of hair loss and is often called ';male- or female-pattern baldness';. The hair usually thins out first in the front of the scalp and moves progressively to the back and top of the head. It tends to be progressive. This type of hair loss also runs in families.

    Treatment of Hair Loss

If hair loss is caused by a temporary situation such as medication, stress or insufficient iron, however, however, the hair loss will stop when its cause ends. Hair loss due to infection may require oral antibiotics or antifungals. Alopecia areata can be treated with injections of steroids such as triamcinolone into the area. For all of the causes, early treatment works the best.

For hair loss caused by androgenic alopecia, there is no cure, although many treatments are available. Finasteride (Propecia) is a prescription hair loss treatment that is prescribed for men only. Minoxidil (Rogaine) is rubbed directly onto the scalp and works for both men and women. It usually works best for hair loss at top and back of the scalp, where there is still some remaining hair. This is available over the counter at most pharmacies.

Well chosen hairstyles can often hide hair loss effectively. Partial hairpieces or wigs are recommended if hair loss is severe.

Finally, hair transplantation has improved dramatically over the last several years. During a hair transplant, healthy hairs are harvested from an area of the scalp with normal hair growth. Individual hairs are then placed into areas of hair loss. When done well, the result is extremely natural appearing.

Questions To Ask Your Doctor About Hair Loss

What is causing the hair loss?

Is this due to a temporary cause that will correct itself?

Is it related to any medication I currently take?

How can the problem be corrected?

    Is it diet related?

If so, what needs to be changed in the diet?

How can the hair damage be repaired?

Should I consider taking medication?Masterbating can be cause of hair loss?
NO UR STUFFED U BALD PRICK!!
The only link I can think of is stress. Stress causes hair loss, and you may be subconsciously masturbating more to try to alleviate some of that stress.

Masturbation will NOT cause hair loss.
Complete utter bs. Nothing sexual you do will make your hair fall out. However not taking care of yourself might make your hair fall out.
    Relax!

The hair your losing on your head, will soon grow on your palms.

    Cheers!
masturbating will not make your hair fall out....so relax over that one.

If you don't want to see hairloss progress than you need to do something about it now, because once the follicles have shrunken and closed for over 2 years or so it will be forever impossible to bring that hair back.

Consider Finasteride or Propecia, both of which come in generic versions which are available cheaper from international pharmacies (order online). Consuming lots of soy also helps somewhat, it is a testosterone atagonist to some degree. Be aware that balding is essentially an effect of testosterone, and as such any means to combat it will involve hormonal altercation which runs the (small but very real) risk of diminished sexual drive and/or function.

Topical Minixoidil (Rogaine) will help hair follicles open up and discourage shrinking but it alone is not enough to reverse balding, it will only slow it or enhance the effects of Finasteride/Propecia.What is the cause of hair loss in one spot then another spot away from the first spot? what can you do for it?

Alopecia areata is hair loss of unknown cause, characterized by round patches of complete baldness.

The specific cause of alopecia areata is unknown. A family history of alopecia is present in about a fifth of all cases. Alopecia areata is occasionally associated with autoimmune diseases.

Alopecia may also occur as alopecia totalis with complete loss of scalp hair or as alopecia universalis with total loss of all body hair.

The primary symptom of alopecia areata is roundish patches of hair loss on the head, with smooth, hairless scalp in the affected areas. Alopecia totalis involves the complete loss of all scalp hair, and alopecia universalis is characterized by the complete loss of all scalp and body hair.

No fully effective treatments are available. Typical therapy includes:

Topical corticosteroids (medium to very high potency)

Subcutaneous (under the skin surface) steroid injection

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF HAIR LOSS AND BREAKAGE OF HAIR FROM THE ROOTS AND IS THERE ANY TREATMENT FOR THIS?

Somehow I feel that this is female hair loss related so here you go.

When new hairs do not replace the old or when hair is coming out in clumps or sections, there is definite cause for concern.Female hair loss comes from a variety of causes some temporary, some permanent.

Temporary causes include pregnancy, anxiety and stress, too many strong treatments (coloring, bleaching), too much manipulation, illness, disease, and infections of the scalp. Fortunately, regrowth occurs naturally when as these causes dissipate.

Permanent hair loss occurs as a result of heredity and hormonal changes and unfortunately is not reversed naturally. Women usually see hair loss begin at areas of parts, where parts become wider. Hormones place a large role in woman鈥檚 hair loss and it can be caused by an overactive thyroid, menopause, pregnancy or other hormonal changes.

There are three basic types of woman鈥檚 hair loss: 1) androgenic alopecia, 2) Telogen effluvium and 3) alopecia areata. There are less common causes of the condition as well. The most common cause of treatment of androgenic alopecia are those directed at hormonal alterations in the system.

http://hair-care-info.blogspot.com/2006//a>Im getting a bald spot in my hair, what is the cause of hair loss at a young age?
Usually it is genetics or stress. Go to a physician and get a shot of steroids.
Pulling hair too much, may be from braids, gel up for sticky hair look or used too much chemical elements on hair.
Such hair loss is always due to genetic inheritance, said to be mainly from the maternal family side. Keeping to a good well-balanced diet and regular exercise for optimum blood circulation helps to minimise the loss.
How young are you? When I was just 10 years old, my hair started falling out and when I told my mom, she kept thinking that I was brushing it too hard, scrubbing it too hard when I washed it, etc. She wouldn't take me seriously. When I woke in the mornings, my pillow was covered in hair. I developed a bald spot on my crown and my mom started pulling my hair back into a ponytail to cover it up. I was in school one day and the elastic broke and my hair came down and all the children in my class started laughing at my big bald spot. I was devastated! I put my head down on my desk and cried in humiliation for the rest of the day. When I went home, I announced to my mom that I would not be returning to school. My mom realized finally that I needed to see a doctor. Next day, she took me to the doctor and we found out that I had a thyroid gland disorder. I was prescribed some pills and within a few weeks my hair started growing back in and I took the pills for about 6 months and never had the problem again. As well, I had a bed-wetting problem that was also devastating and even though this was not mentioned to the doctor, I stopped wetting the bed and never had that problem again, either. So, my suggestion is that you go see the doctor. It could be your thyroid gland is out of whack - either hyperactive or hypoactive. The thyroid gland controls a lot of things. Have this problem checked out and do not accept it as hereditary or lack of vitamins. Worth seeing the doctor about. Good luck!
    consult a trichologist
    stress....lower the stress level
Hair loss is always hereditary and comes from the mother's side of the family.

year ago I suffered from hair loss and since hair loss is hereditary my dad suffered from it too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss. the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

Hair Loss Products: Free Trial Offer

CAUTION: Some hair loss is normal, about 100 strands per day. Before you experiment with hair loss products, insure there are no environmental issues present in your individual case, which could cause hair loss. No hair loss treatments will help until those issues are resolved. Male and female hair loss may be the result of any one of many different factors.

In both men and women, hair loss can be divided into two categories. Hereditary factors, for which there is no proven cure, and environmental factors, for which an abundance of research has provided many solutions. Of the many makers of hair loss products, few are willing to stand behind their products with a guarantee of their effectiveness. The manufacturers of Provillus are so sure that it will stop your hair loss and assist in the regrowth of your hair, due to environmental causes, that they are willing to guarantee satisfaction with a 60 day Free Trial Offer. Because your hair loss may be due to heredity, this product comes with a 180 day money back guarantee, just in case it does not work for you.

    Causes of Hair Loss

Unfortunately, science is unable to overcome the effects of genetic differences provided by our parents. Individuals with this type of baldness or hair loss will not respond to traditional methods of treatment. So, I will concentrate on the environmental causes.

Among these environmental causes there are abuse, disease, and completely normal conditions associated with aging. Many of these are controllable, and when the condition or abuse is resolved, the hair loss will stop.

    Abuse:

Abuse takes several different forms, the obvious, like self abuse where the subject pulls out their own hair. And more subtle abuses.

    1. An unbalanced diet without enough protein can cause temporary hair loss.

Solution: Pay more attention to nutritional needs.

    2. Couch Potatoes and an otherwise sedentary lifestyle, lacking in vigorous exercise accelerates hair loss.

Solution: Get up and play an hour a day.

    3. Few of us drink enough fluids to maintain normal hydration, even more serious than mere hair loss.

Solution: Set up a plan to drink no less than 8-10 glasses of water a day, in addition to whatever other beverages you enjoy..

    4. Too frequent use of shampoos which contain lathering ingredients or surfactants which may irritate the scalp and cause itching and scratching, thus accelerating hair loss.

Solution: Choose hair care products that are milder, or contain herbal formulas.

    5. Improper hair care techniques including too frequent use of treatments, hair coloring, blow drying, heat from curling irons and hot rollers which can increase the progression of hair loss. In this case, you need only look on your bathroom floor, sink, and counter tops.

Solution: Eliminate those expensive trips to the salon, except for very special occasions. Consider getting an infrequent permanent, instead of exposing your hair to the daily ritual of “fixing” it. Slow down.

    Disease:

Disease can take several forms, the psychological and the physiological. Stress as a result of a major life event such as pregnancy, loss of a loved one or divorce, loss of employment, etc., and major surgery can cause temporary hair loss which will eventually return to normal once the stress is dealt with. There are steps you can take to reduce their effects on your body, like getting more exercise. Seek out a competent professional to help you resolve the issues you are dealing with.

Physiological causes include health conditions such as thyroid abnormalities, lupus, liver or kidney disease and diabetes. As these diseases are more serious than the hair loss, they are best diagnosed by your doctor. Others may be fungal infections, which can be treated effectively by over the counter medications. Another condition is called Alopecia Areata, is identified by circular patches of baldness, where the body is attacking the hair follicles. Cortisone shots in the affective areas are required, and the sooner the better.

Unfortunately, the normal use of some medications for acne, and amphetamines such as those in diet pills can also cause the loss of hair. Check with your prescriber to insure your medications are not the cause.

    Aging

Under normal conditions, our bodies change as we age. Men and women age differently. Estrogen and testosterone levels rise and fall in both sexes. Enzymes in the body act on the testosterone to form DHT. Once a woman enters menopause, her estrogen levels drop dramatically, increasing her testosterone levels. As men age, there testosterone levels drop and their estrogen levels increase. As the level of DHT increases, the hair follicles shrink. When they shrink enough, the blood flow is cut off, and they are unable to produce and push a new hair through the restricted follicle. As old hair dAbout hair loss or causes of hair loss ?

Do you consider low blood circulation towards hair follicles a significant cause of hair loss?

I read in a hair loss magazine about hair loss and low blood circulation, what is your opinion about it?Do you consider low blood circulation towards hair follicles a significant cause of hair loss?
Yes, yes, yes its true, I studied Indian head massage, and if you massage your scalp then you hair grows out healthier and more and faster cause you stimulate the blood flow, its true my sisters hair fell out and we did Indian head massage on her and her hair stop falling out less than it use toDo you consider low blood circulation towards hair follicles a significant cause of hair loss?
Poor blood circulation can really affect the growth or normal functioning of any part of our body, more so of the hair follicles which are also very prone to other environmental factors that will cause their damage like exposure to dust and sun. Blood supplies essential nutrients and oxygen which are vital for the maintenance and repair of cells/tissues and therefore, poor blood perfusion also diminishes the supply of these nutrients the hair follicle needs. They'll be thinner and will be more likely to be removed.( hair fall). scalp massage can increase blood circulation.
low blood loss does play a part in hair loss but the major cause is pattern baldness which is genetic. you can always stand on your head for sometime for your blood flow.
I would say that hair loss is in the jeans from your parents or grand parents.

MAJOR causes of hair loss vs simple maintanence?

Okay, I KNOW that its important for optimum hair health for it to be healthy from inside/root by good nutrition and maybe vitamins AND the length by propper trims, conditioning, an maybe hot oils at all times. What I really want to know is simple: if someone suddenly experienced major hair loss because of stress or a pregnancy (both which are known to cause hair loss) or whatever other reason, would suddenly cutting their length off or deep conditioning it/maintaning it form the outside make any difference since the cause was something so sudden that generally I would imagine it might not matter? My opinion is that if the hair was going to fall off because of major events as I mentioned, it won't matter if your hair on the outside (which is already dead) is long or short, has split ends or is soft as butter. Does this make sense? I'm only referring to outside treatment not nutrition or vitamin etc.MAJOR causes of hair loss vs simple maintanence?
There is nothing you can do when it comes to sudden hair loss, you have to let it take it's course of shedding. A doctor could say that it is normal for hair loss to happen during pregnancy this type of hair loss is called Postpartum Alopecia and is experienced at the conclusion of pregnancy.

This sudden hair loss can happen in excess and last three to nine months after delivery. Normal growth cycles usually return w/in a year.

Alopecia Areata is the sudden falling out of hair in round patches or baldness in spots; can appear elsewhere on the body. This type is highly unpredictable and is usually an autoimmune disease that cause the affected hair follicles to be mistakenly attacked by the person's own immune system, with white blood cells stopping hair growth. (caused by Stress or other health problem)

When someone has delivered their child I suggest to always continue taking prenatal vitamins and iron so that the blood can keep receiving more nutrients. The hair always receive nutrients from the inner body. A balanced diet and exercise can stimulate hair growth.

Types of food to stay away from during this time of hair loss:

ALL JUNK FOOD: Pizza, chips, candy, etc.

    Soda: Diet Pepsi, anything diet

Sugars or Fake Sugars: Splenda, Phenylalanines (splenda is a phenylalanine, do your research this sugar is in just about every sweet food; when you are in a grocery line check the back of a package of Trident and you will see it) are in alot of sweet candies, sodas, and gums, also be careful of splenda in yogurts or sweet waters

Fried Foods: chicken, fries, etc. (deep fried foods that is..)

Grains %26amp; Wheat: oatmeal, did you know that oatmeal can turn to fungus? (research it)

Foods to nourish your body during this time of sudden loss of hair:

Water, Water, Water: Add a lemon, lime or orange

    ALL RAW VEGGIES

    ALL RAW FRUITS

    Raw veggie and fruit smoothies

Flaxseed oil: you can find recipes on the web; mix with salad or mix with orange juice and pour on salad to taste

    Fish Oils

    Coconut Oils

    Olive Oils

    Dried Fruits %26amp; Veggies

    Fish: Salmon, Tuna, Halibut

I could go on and on about this stuff...but I do reccomend these things b/c the more you feed your body REAL FRESH foods, it wil love you for it.

NOTE: For someone whose body is not used to RAW Foods, they may feel ill because the body is not used to this type.MAJOR causes of hair loss vs simple maintanence?
Hair loss can be a symptom of hormone imbalance and other health issues. So you should check with a doctor to find out the cause. Hair cuts can add some volume, products can help style, but it won't effect hair growth. There are products like rogain that are for hair replacement, but conditioners and such don't help.

    - seborrhoeic dermatitis (medical name for ferocious scaling and itching, sometimes bleeding, possibly caused by a yeast infection) doesn't help, either

All these can be treated at home with readily-available natural remedies - like essential oil massage, cider vinegar and herbal infusion rinses - good diet, and simple exercises. in males its testosterone its in your sweat and covers your scalp and prevents hair growth .

get a good shampoo they make ones to combat the testosterone on the scalp

Wear a hat as little as possible. Hats hold in heat which smothers the hair foolicle. They need to breathe to. Also, stress, genetics, and MANY other things cause hair loss. What are the common causes of hair loss other than DHT?

DHT is the most common cause (in men that is) but other include: immune system disorders, childbirth, major surgery, severe illness, psychological stress and chemotherapy.

Also there is Traction alopecia, the loss of hair from constant pulling, usually as the result of hair styling.

    Hair Loss and Its Causes

What is the normal cycle of hair growth and loss?

The normal cycle of hair growth lasts for 2 to 6 years. Each hair grows approximately 1 centimeter (less than half an inch) per month during this phase. About 90 percent of the hair on your scalp is growing at any one time. About 10 percent of the hair on your scalp, at any one time, is in a resting phase. After 2 to 3 months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place.

It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of this cycle. However, some people may experience excessive (more than normal) hair loss. Hair loss of this type can affect men, women and children.

    What causes excessive hair loss?

A number of things can cause excessive hair loss. For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary.

Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.

Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants.

Certain infections can cause hair loss. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss in children. The infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines.

Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find the cause so that it can be treated.

Can improper care of my hair cause hair loss?

Yes. If you wear pigtails or cornrows or use tight hair rollers, the pull on your hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia (say: al-oh-pee-sha). If the pulling is stopped before scarring of the scalp develops, your hair will grow back normally. However, scarring can cause permanent hair loss. Hot oil hair treatments or chemicals used in permanents (also called ';perms';) may cause inflammation (swelling) of the hair follicle, which can result in scarring and hair loss.

    What is common baldness?

The term ';common baldness'; usually means male-pattern baldness, or permanent-pattern baldness. Male-pattern baldness is the most common cause of hair loss in men. Men who have this type of hair loss usually have inherited the trait. Men who start losing their hair at an early age tend to develop more extensive baldness. In male-pattern baldness, hair loss typically results in a receding hair line and baldness on the top of the head.

Women may develop female-pattern baldness. In this form of hair loss, the hair can become thin over the entire scalp.

Can my doctor do something to stop hair loss?

Perhaps. Your doctor will probably ask you some questions about your diet, any medicines you're taking, whether you've had a recent illness and how you take care of your hair. If you're a woman, your doctor may ask questions about your menstrual cycle, pregnancies and menopause. Your doctor may want to do a physical exam to look for other causes of hair loss. Finally, blood tests or a biopsy (taking a small sample of cells to examine under a microscope) of your scalp may be needed.

Is there any treatment for hair loss?

Depending on your type of hair loss, treatments are available. If a medicine is causing your hair loss, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine. Recognizing and treating an infection may help stop the hair loss. Correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss.

Medicines may also help slow or prevent the development of common baldness. One medicine, minoxidil (brand name: Rogaine), is available without a prescription. It is applied to the scalp. Both men and women can use it. Another medicine, finasteride (brand name: Propecia) is available with a prescription. It comes in pills and is only for men. It may take up to 6 months before you can tell if one of these medicines is working.

If adequate treatment is not available for your type of hair loss, you may consider trying different hairstyles or wigs, hairpieces, hair weaves or artificial hair replacement

im not a Doctor but i've heard that the biggest cause for hair loss is DHT = dihydrotestosterone

its a substance that latches on to your hair follicles and chokes the life out of them so the hair that does grow, either grows extremely thin until it breaks off. you can use things like saw palmetto, pygeum, green tea and also castor oil to block it from its receptor site on your hair. hair loss also comes from hereditary, iron loss, illness and some medications.
The prevalence of female hair loss is much more serious than most people think. Fortunately, there are many ways to improve this situation. not only my and my wife`s own personal experienceWhat are the main causes of hair loss?
If your hair is starting to fall out there are several things you can do to stop it.

Eat a healthy diet. Hair is 95% protein and eating a diet with plenty of vitamins and proteins will not only make your hair look healthy but will help you to keep it.

Just adding vegetables and fruit to your diet can make a big difference.

Vitamin B helps with circulation in the scalp, prevents hair loss, keeps your hair its natural colour and stops it from greying

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that keeps your hair healthy.

Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant as well and also helps improve the scalp circulation.

Biotin which is another vitamin is essential for hair growth and healthy hair.

Al these vitamins can be found in a healthy diet.

Use a good shampoo. Ideally it should have a pH between 5 and 9. This as close to the pH of your hair you will find in a shampoo. If your shampoo stings your eyes a lot that is a clear indication that there are excessive chemicals in it and you sholud change it.

This will work if you follow it. It worked for me.
DHT and androgen are the most common causes of hair loss. DHT is a type of hormone that helps in the sexual development of an individual from birth to puberty. This simply means that it is innate in us to have this even if we have full-bodied hair which we can boast about. When men reach a certain age, these processes may change. There could be an extraordinary production of DHT which then causes imbalance in the hair shafts and the entire biology of the hair. The decaying process of the hair follicles may only be apparent after a number of years.
Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as malnutrition, illness, tension and other health problems.Perming, straightening, hair dyeing and bleaching ,hot combing, using heated rollers and hot wax inevitably damage the hair.Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp.
