My grandmothers hair is falling out, she microwaves all her food, she is 89.Can microwave ovens cause hair loss?

Your grandmother is doing very well at 89! Bless her! The hairloss is most probably due to her age. Everything seems to fall apart when you get very old. I'm not surprised if she hasn't lost much of her dentition too! Tell her not to put her face or head too close to the hot ovens. Ooops! joke only.
No, this is not the cause of your gran's hair loss. Even if the microwave was faulty and releasing microwave radiation, there would be little impact to her health. More likely, if she is eating highly processed ready to eat meals, she may not be getting all the vitamins and minerals she needs. There are plenty of food supplements for older people, I'd recommend she starts taking some.

I think you have solved the problem, I am only 70 and my hair first started falling out when these micro thingies came out.


I had my first suspicions when my little cat came in very wet and I placed her in this micro thing to dry her out, it was only set on that 'defrost' thing, she came out dry but bald.


I had her wrapped up in that tin foil stuff before I put her in the micro, I watched a lot of sparks going on and stuck my head in to have a closer look, I think that's when I first noticed, perhaps I should sue???


My hair shows no sign of re growing and 'Kitty' is still completely hair free.

No, she might be allergic to something. I new an elderly woman who had to get rid if her cats because she was allergic to them and her hair was falling out.

Well its kinda impossible. Like your microwave has to be shut all the way and sealed before you can even start anything!
