in other words, if you are anorexic, what is it that you are not getting from food that causes you to lose your hair? im just wondering, cause i saw a question from a recovering anorexic girl about her hair...If you are anorexic, what is it that you are lacking that causes hair loss?
The hair is the very last tissue in the body to receive nourishment. Hair only receives nutrients if there is any left over after the major organs and the rest of the body has been supplied. That is why hair loss occurs when caloric intake is very low. Soirulina and chlorella are natural foodd supplements that have very high quality, easy to digest and easy to absorb protein and many other valuable nutrients. These supplements may help provide adequate nutrition even when caloric intake is very low.

It's about the vitamins and/or the protein. It may take some time to recover, even if the person is eating well right now, because the body will not recover as fast as it gained it's weight back. A nutritionist or a doctor can help a person to figure out what vitamins and minerals they need in order to recover.
I'd say protein. Also Vitamin B-12
Vitamins loss, and protein loss
Protein.. You should have probably have at least 80 grams of protein a day...
