Straightening your hair doesn't call hair loss, consistent heat causes your hair to become damaged. It cause severe split ends, untreated split ends began to break off and this is what causes hair loss. The best way to manage your hair is to NOT use direct heat more often than necessary. Blow dryers are okay, however, air drying is even better. So, to sum this up, it's the continuous heat that causes hair loss. Try to stay away from a lot of heat, it totally stresses your hair out! Hi There,
Straightening your hair will not lead to hair loss. However, you do run the risk of damaging your hair if you're using lots of heat. Additionally, you should not use your straightening iron on wet hair, the heat is far too intense.
If you're looking for more information on hair treatment, hair loss and the methods available for treating hair loss - I encourage you to check out my blog, BattleAgainstBald.com. I started the blog immediately after receiving a hair restoration surgery. I used it to document the results of my procedure and thought I'd fill in the blank spots with general hair loss and hair treatment information.
Best of luck to you in your battle.
