Can antidepressants cause hair loss?

Type in the name of the anti-depressant in Google or Yahoo! like ';Xanax, contraindications, complications, side effects,'; etc. However, hair loss is a 'common' problem with depression itself, like skin problems, etc. After all, your body is under a great deal of emotional turmoil, effecting different parts of the body. Some people just shrug off stress, I lost part of the color of my face from Vitiligo because the stress caused my body (Hyperthrodism) to think my skin color was a disease and destroyed it, leaving my face 1/2 pink, 1/2 tan. I'm getting it tattooed to match the other side, but the point is, stress affects our bodies in many, many ways.

There are stress tests out there for you to take to measure your amount of stress. Like losing someone to death equals 100 points, moving equals 100 points, job stress equals a certain number of points, etc. If you get over like 300-400 points then it starts affecting your body in a negative way (i.e., making you ill).

Good luck! And see a doctor about a change or ask him if its a side-effect. Don't ever, ever stop taking your medication without your doctors knowledge, after all that can make it even worse. Can antidepressants cause hair loss?
