Will a combination of cardio + moderate weights cause hair loss?

I've heard that it increases testosterone and can therefore contribute to hair loss. Is this true?

I don't want to become a body builder figure, I just want to gain a moderate amount of muscle and burn some fat - but i'm worried about these baldness rumours! Will a combination of cardio + moderate weights cause hair loss?
uhh nooo! Will a combination of cardio + moderate weights cause hair loss?
more testosterone doesnt make you lose hair.

your hair follicles can develop an intolerance to testosterone which can lead to hair loss but thats got nothing to do with exercise and everything to do with you genetics.
hahahhahahah that's ridiculous.

Also, ';you don't want to become a body builder figure';,

Yeah it's pretty easy to do. Don't go too hard or you'll wake up looking like Jay Cutler!
Oestrogen is a chemical that hinders hair loss. That is why women keep their hair as they have much more than men.

Have you noticed that alcoholics in the street, are never bald. They always have a huge untidy head of hair.

This is because booze has oestrogen, but you have to drink it in vast quanties,so don't be tempted.

In case your wondering, oestrogen is rarely found in foods
Here is an answer I found online, it is a response to a question about a 24 yr old who was asking about hair loss from working out. This response was made by Dr. William Rassman, founder of the New Hair Institute.

This may seem logical, but there is no proof to it. Since you are 24 years old and at the peak of the early balding process when genetics generally tend to kick in, it may be coincidental with your training process. Realistically, if you have genetic hair loss you should have a diagnosis made, then probably treat it with Propecia, which should stop the hair loss impact of DHT reasonably well. As a medical student you should approach this process the correct way.

I hope this helps some.
I have often wondered that as well. I heard the same as you, and when I looked around, saw a hell of a lot of bodybuilders were either receding or totally bald. I think there is some truth in it to be honest.
You can work out till you're blue in the face but you will not lose hair due to it. The testosterone only comes into play if you are using anabolic steroids.
