im 13 and ive noticed my hair is beginning to fall out a little bit more than usual. Its naturally thin, i have also been quite sick lately. I havent been eating properly and im not overweight, but i dont exercise enough. Could this be the reason? What could cause hair loss at 13?
1. Stress
2. Malnutrition.
3. Genetics (if you are male )
4. Skin disease
Probably 1st or second. Eat enough vegies and buy some vitamins, have a good rest and enjoy the life.
If it continues, see a doctor. What could cause hair loss at 13?
Most likely malnutrition. i.e. not enough vitamins and minerals in your diet. What you describe is a common symptom with anorexics. Eat better food (and more of it if you're not eating enough) and take multivitamins. Remember, multivitamins are NOT a substitute for a well-balanced diet. They are a SUPPLEMENT. In the meantime I would ask a doctor if you're concerned with this and verify what the real trouble is, if there is any.
**edit**
I see many people saying it's stress. While stress can sometimes lead to hair loss, at 13 years old I seriously doubt that's the most likely cause.
I also realize you posted this question in the CANCER section. Cancer doesn't cause hair loss my friend. Kemo therapy and radiation treatments for cancer do. In other words losing hair doesn't mean you have cancer, just in case you were worrying about that.
my hairline started receding at about your age. im 18 now and the hair on top of my head is half as thick as on the sides and it pretty much looks like a 40 yr olds haha. but anyways for me im pretty sure its in my dna
You have alopecia, than can becaused by stress, major illness, autoimmune disorders, thyroid problems.
Your stressed, most likely, extremely stressed. I thought it wasn't the cancer that made your hair fall out, it was the kemo.
yes, definitely. Also stress.
propecia a dermatological problem
i would say either stress or worry?
try to eat little and often instead of skipping meals x
most likely stress, find out whats bothering you and fix it
Yes. Stress could be a factor too.
don't think cancer!?
could more than likely be stress.
go to your doctors and a prescripted pill should help.
