Has anyone ever heard that too much hot flatironing etc. can cause hair loss?

I went WebMD and they said one of the causes was curling irons, and I'm assuming they meant anything with heat. They also said hair dye can cause it...but I used a semipermanent black all the way back in December.Has anyone ever heard that too much hot flatironing etc. can cause hair loss?
I have never heard of this before, I wouldn't trust everything that is on the internet. I know that having your hair pulled into a ponytail can help the hair loss problem, but not to that point of balding. (unless there is a medical problem with your hair folicles)Has anyone ever heard that too much hot flatironing etc. can cause hair loss?
What happens is that excessive use of heat and chemicals on your hair damages the folicles and causes the hair to fall out. Using a restorative shampoo like pantene pro-v helps to reverse the damage by adding beneficial nutrients back into the follicle. You don't have to wash you hair every day either. You can condition it every day, and wash it every other day. I have found that it helps my hair to be naturally healthy and when I use heat products or dye my hair, the hair is healthier because I do not strip all of the natural oils by excessive washings.
