My psychology teacher from a yr ago said that this was a myth, but i still believe it to be ture!! is it??Does stress really cause hair loss?
Well I believe that when some people get stressed they loose appetite, they just don't eat the way they are suppose to eat (some don't even eat at all). That makes their body suffer a lack of nutrients and vitamins necessary for the normal body functions and regeneration. Therefore, a lot of medical conditions may appear, one of which could be hair loss.Does stress really cause hair loss?
It really does!
Your teacher is right. Genetics causes hair loss (or keeping a full head of hair).
It does if you pull your hair.
it is a myth and it is also a fact ,, Stress does not has to be the factor , but still it can trigger the disorder of the immune system which leads to hair loss
...why do u have hair loss? In males is currently believed to be 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme that converts the hormone testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which, in genetically-prone hairs on the scalp, inhibits hair growth.
In females :believed to result from a decrease in estrogen, a hormone that normally counteracts the balding effect of testosterone, which normally occurs in women's blood.
Being stressed can trigger lots of hormonian disorder in the body of the woman and Man...(in male baldness generally is genatic but also can be because of hormone disorder)
Stress can be one trigger for autoimmune disorders
Alopecia universalis is a suspected autoimmune disease in which the body's white blood cells attack hair ..
(stress is not proven to be the factor but it can trigger it)
Alopecia areata : (baldness and hair loss of few hair in few places) is thought to be an autoimmune disease in which the body mistakenly treats its hair follicles as foreign tissue and suppresses or stops hair growth.
I believe hair loss could be from stress I heard some one in jail got gray hair over 2-3 days or lost their hair over few weeks because they were under a lot of stress
yes
yes my uncle lost all his hair do to alot of stress in his life.
yes it is true and the more stressed then the sooner your hair will fall out or grey. Some people turn grey instead of hair loss, but in answer to your question it is not a myth.
stress causes chemical imbalance. The imbalance often causes other related medical conditions. Also the stress of pulling ones hair out also can cause baldness.
you know... believing is almost true. probably there might be persons that lose theirs hair as a stress results, but probably will be hard to prove that in a scientific research. many studies have been don so far, but no hair loss has been reported.
yes in extreme cases it can cause hair loss among other things
I believe yes... I loose hair in a funny way when I'm stressed... first I thought it's because my diet is wrong.. I tried different ways and it finally stopped when I tried to calm down and stop thinking alot...
yeah but it really depends on ur genetics,i think
http://www.follicle.com/section2/5.html There you go!! Hope this helps.
Yes, it is called alopecia (baldness) or alapecia ariata (spotted bald spots). Not sure if I spelled that right, sorry. I have actually worked with someone that developed bald spots due to stress.
YES ITS TRUE.WHEN MY DAD DIED MY SISTER SUFFERED WITH ALOPECIA AND HER HAIR FELL OUT THROUGH STRESS
Yes stress can cause hair loss.
idk when u are stressed see if ur hair falls out!!!!
I believe it does. My Grandfather died about 20 years ago and my Grandmother lost all of her hair shortly after and was never able to grow it back.
Yes it is, and you can get gray hairs too.
yes,that's right,but I think it's a additional cause to something else,like uncorrect diets,some diseases,effects of air pollution,ect...
Absolutely....it happened to me! I was so stressed out last year, I noticed more hair falling out in the shower. I talked to my dermatologist and he told me it was due to stress and needed to slow down. As soon as I did, my hair stopped falling out.
i am a hairdresser and i believe it to be true x
yeah i think that is true juss look at my auntie lol
