Does flat-ironing hair cause hair loss?

I've heard that blow-drying hair straight and blow-drying in general leads to hair loss, some say just hair breakage and not actual hair loss though. I get why that might be, when blow-drying on a high heat setting and trying to get the hair on your roots straight, you'd have to blow-dry that area which you can sometimes feel on your scalp. Does flat-ironing hair lead to hair loss as well? Because technically, you don't feel the heat on your scalp like you do when you blow-dry.

Thanks.Does flat-ironing hair cause hair loss?
Hiya,

Firstly there can be many effects when flat ironing hair because hair fibers react to heat harshly leaving hair dry, brittle and may cause obsessive breakage. I would suggest using a flat iron and blow dryer on the lowest setting possible as the highest will cause unnecessary thermal application to your hair strands.

You may not feel the heat on your scalp but the flat iron will eventually strip away the hairs natural texture leading to the hair severely breaking off in many places and weakening hair follicles to produce new hair growth

I would also suggest using a protective serum from the roots to ends to ensure your hair is well coated and not bone dry when using heat as the hair will become fragile. Most Flat Irons cause excessive heat therefore it would be beneficial if you reduce the amount of times that you straighten hair.

Other alternatives such as wrapping your hairstyle into place can keep the straightened effect without using any heat. Less frequent use is better, and you will find your hair is much healthier and vibrant because of it.

I hope you have found my answer informative, Good Luck!Does flat-ironing hair cause hair loss?
Not from the root, no, unless you're pulling it out by going too hard. The heat itself won't do it.
It just causes heat damage and breakage. not loss. watch this for more info:

they are all really bad. ironing makes ure hair weaker by burning it and it breaks easier.
dont get it cut!
yep, more or less,
if you constantly are using both then yes
cause damage so of course that cause hair loss
