Can low iron cause hair loss?

i know someone who is anemic and have started loosing their hair. can this be the cause? if so how can she stop the hair loss?Can low iron cause hair loss?
YES i just found out that i an anemic and did a lot of research on the subject. has she seen a doc/ is she on Iron Supplements? if so once iron levels are back in good shape it should stop falling out and regrowing.Can low iron cause hair loss?
