Can Adderall XR Cause Hair Loss?

I've been taking Adderall XR @30mg/day for a couple of weeks, and a lot more hair is falling out than usual when i take a shower or brush my hair. i looked at the PI sheet and it didn't even list hair loss as a side effect. i did some internet searching and found that it is rare.

I have never run across hair loss as a side effect of Adderall XR...either with my boys or with any patients I've had that have been on this medication. That does not mean that it isn't affecting you this way as everyone is different. Please be sure to voice your concerns to your doctor as it is also totally possible that your hair loss is due to a condition not yet diagnosed and totally unrelated to the medication.Can Adderall XR Cause Hair Loss?
YES! I just stopped taking adderall xr after having taken it since Oct 07. I experienced thinning hair and increase in acne...and I'm 36!!! It seemed to work really well at first but over the last 6-8 months, it's been making me more agitated and depressed. I feel much happier having stopped.

I am not sure, but my daughter was taking it for a while. She mentioned that she was loosing hair by the hand fulls at times after using it a few months. She stopped using it. It scared her. She is 22 yrs. old. I am tempted to start taking it myself, I am taking the Amphetamine @ 70mg/day now for 4 yrs. and I believe my body is getting used to it. It lasts about 5-7 hours and starts wearing off. I am 49 years old. Sorry I could not be much more help. Sincerely, Earl.
