Depression/anxiety cause hair loss?

I just wanted to know if depression and anxiety can cause hair loss. I'm always so nervous in class and when in big crowds, and i've been depressed for pretty much my whole life lol. My depression and anxiety are getting worse since i started to loose alot of my hair for the past year or two(its got a lot thinner since last year). I'm only 19 years old too, thats why its bothering me so much.Depression/anxiety cause hair loss?
I think that it can cause hair loss, but not a great deal of hair loss. I am a person who struggles with nerve problems too. But I have found ways to deal with it. I love to read books. I find one that is good for me and then I look for things that I can do with my hands as well. That helps control the nerves and the depression. good luck to you.Depression/anxiety cause hair loss?
Cool, Thanks

Yeah it is one of the reason. Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as malnutrition, illness, tension and other health problems.Perming, straightening, hair dyeing and bleaching ,hot combing, using heated rollers and hot wax inevitably damage the hair.Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. Hi ulaula,

Poor circulation due to stress is also tagged as one of the main culprits of hair loss. A tight scalp due to stress prevents the scalp's blood vessels and other vital nutrients to reach the hair follicles thus blocking the passageway for hair growth possibilities.
