Protopic (=tacralimus) is a prescription topical medication usually used for eczema. As far as I have seen, it does not cause hair loss. The original condition that prompted use of protopic, however, such as eczema or seborrhea, might cause hair loss, so it's not the medication's side effect.
However, I would be a little cautious about using Protopic on kids under 2. It started carrying a black box warning a while ago because of some reported problems in lab rats. I now reserve it for older kids. If you have any doubt, ask your pediatrician.I use protopic tacralimus on my infants face could this be causing hair loss ?
