Can Klonopin (anti-anxiety) cause hair-loss?

I must agree with the person posting above. I have been taking it for several years, and have noticed no hair loss.

It isn't listed as a potential side-effect in the manufacturer's circular, but that doesn't necessarily mean you couldn't be that one in a million. I would look for other potential reasons for your hair thinning. Can Klonopin (anti-anxiety) cause hair-loss?
I have heard of that happening with lunesta and ambien but not seen any reference to it for klonopin or any other benzodiazepine. The main side effects of klonopin and benzodiazepines are memory impairment, depression, agorophobia and panic attacks, which come about from long term use and of course the problems of addiction and tolerance (loss of effect) and severe withdrawal syndromes if it is stopped abruptly.

Your hair loss if probably age related or due to some other health matter.

if you want to read about all the effects of benzodiazepines including klonopin then read this http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/Can Klonopin (anti-anxiety) cause hair-loss?
I did not have that reaction and I took it for about 6 months.
I've taken klonopin for probably about 19 months and I'm almost 28, My hairline has receeded and some thiining on top i've noticed in the last two years, however i am almost 28 and on my dad's side they were like all half bald by 33.
I've never heard of that side-effect, and I've taken Klonopin for years. I suspect there's another reason for your hair loss. I'd suggest seeing a doctor (a ';normal'; doctor, not a shrink) about it.
Everyone responds to medications differently...however, hair loss is not listed as a side effect of Klonopin. I have taken it myself for 14 years and I have thicker hair than ever.

Talk to your doctor (who prescribed it) about your concerns...it may be related to the reason you were prescribed the medicine and not the medicine itself.
