A greasy scalp causes hair loss, but there are many baldness remedies using emu oil. Can someone clarify??

Oily/Greasy scalp doesn't necessarily result in hair loss problems. However, it does make you more likely to have Sebum plugs in and around your hair follicles. Sebum plugs block the hair follicles, which can result in hair loss. Sebum plugs are the oils that form on your scalp... and sometimes can harden and block your hair follicles. Over time, it can ';sufficate'; it, so the root of your hair becomes weaker and weaker -- thinner and thinner.

You can get a hair follicle analysis for really cheap these days. And, they can tell you if it's the Sebum Plugs that are causing your hair loss.

Tea tree oil, mixed with Lavender and Jojoba oil dissolves Sebum plugs. Paul Mitchell has a Tea Tree Oil shampoo/conditioner that works well.A greasy scalp causes hair loss, but there are many baldness remedies using emu oil. Can someone clarify??

I've never heard of a greasy scalp causing hair loss. Sounds like something an old woman would say to make sure the kids wash their hair every day.

I've had oily hair, and I suppose, an oily scalp, for the past 35 years, and I can assure you, i am far from bald.

Many oils calm split ends on hair, giving a smoother look and therefore looking healthier. I don't know that emu oil in and of itself does anything, but I am pretty darn sure it won't make you go bald.

The pattern baldness gene is what will make you go bald - it's genetic - either you have it or you don't.
